The Algonquin Street Residence was transformed from a single-family home to a fully accessible DMH licensed group residence.
Through an extensive community process with the local Four Corners neighborhood organization, we rehabilitated the gracious shingle-style house to accommodate the complex program of a licensed group residence, including staff offices and a live-in manager’s apartment with a private entrance.
The program spaces are designed for supportive community living. Wheelchair accessibility is achieved via a redesigned lowered entry on the east facade and a new elevator within the building footprint.
